Some Roscoe Pix

We are supposed to get lots of snow tomorrow. Well, at least by Tennessee standards anyway. Yvonne and the kids are hoping we really do get the 4-6 inches of snow tomorrow morning.

Well, the snow did come. Enjoy the pix like we are the snow.

More pix to follow soon as time allows.

Merry Christmas 2007

Merry Christmas All,

I'll be uploading some pictures from Christmas in Roscoe soon. In the mean time, here are a couple from yesterday.
Sarah and Sophie enjoy the cold weather. Temps are in the low teens.

Christmas Dollywood Style

We went to Dollywood Friday night. It was cold and crowded. I guess 15,00o other people had the same idea. Anyway, the kids got to sit with Santa for a while, so the night was a success. This Santa takes about 10 minutes with each kid. The line moves slowly, but it is well worth it when your time comes.

I think I heard a Dollywood employee say they have about 3.5 million lights. I did not audit their count for accuracy, but they sure had a lot.

The Blue Light Special

Main Street in Dollywood. Lots of lights.

Sarah and her friend.

Obligatory Dollywood Posed shot.

Nick wanted to ride Dollywood's newest coaster. It's too scary for me during the day. Forget about a night ride.

OK, time to meet Santa.

Christmas Parade 2007

Nick's football team is going to milk this championship for all it's worth. Saturday night, they were in the Halls Christmas Parade. This parade gets bigger and bigger, exponentially, every year. I think their were enough floats and vehicles they could have lined up and covered the entire 1.5 mile route.

Here are a few images from the parade. I did not get very many as I was walking with the boys, so I only saw a bit of the parade itself. I did see a few dump trucks though. Malcolm D. are you out there? They are almost like garbage trucks.

How about some tractors in the parade?

Argh, keep your hand down lady and out of my picture.

And some of the boys.

This banner might be recognizable to some. It will be hung at the community park where they play baseball and football. They used my image from the championship game. Pretty cool.

Some more basketball form today

It's been slow around here. Just putting up some Christmas decorations and playing outside.

Here are some pictures from Nick's game earlier today.

He had a few nice steals and got some fast breaks, but missed a couple of shots and got fouled once or twice. One time he even had the ball stolen by a teammate. They did not play well and lost. Oh well, there is always next week.

Nick's Basketball Season Starts

Nick's basketball season got underway Saturday. I'll post a few images from his first game in a minute. I've not blogged in a few days. Life has been nice and slow lately. But, I'll catch you up on what we've been doing the last few days anyway. Today, we got out the Christmas trees and put them up. One is pre-lit (such a great invention) and one is not. I put the lights on the unlit one and all was fine. I put Sarah to bed and came back down and now one string of lights is not working, causing a few others not to work. Those kind of lights (that make the whole strand go dark if one malfunctions) should be outlawed. I'm turning into the Grinch just thinking about finding the bad bulb.

Last week we went on another hike on House Mountain. We all had fun again, but I left the camera at home, so no images from that hike.

We had a little party with some of my co-workers this weekend to watch the SEC Football Championship game. UT outplayed LSU almost all game long, but a couple of really bad passes (one intercepted and returned for a touchdown and one intercepted in the closing minute) cost UT the game and the championship. LSU will now play for the national championship.

Ok, on to a a few pix of Nick's basketball game. Oh, he played pretty well and they won easily. They have a very tall team and should do very well this year. I heard quite a few other coaches talking about how big Nick's team is.

Nick shows off his hops and wins the jump ball to start the season.

Nick on the fast break. He got fouled, but not points on this try.

Dribbling towards the goal. He's getting better with the ball, but probably the weakest part of his game right now. Towards the end of the game, he was starting to get his confidence to drive to the goal.

Looking for the open shot or open teammate.
